Look what you have done

As we make preparations to return to Israel on May 29th we pause to reflect on the needs that have been met through your generosity and support.

Through your faithful prayer support we have the largest group ever to go and work in Israel. Twenty-five Christians of different denominations and backgrounds will be going into homes, repairing, painting and touching the lives of hurting, needy families. We will be meeting together each morning to pray for the people we will meet each day and trusting G-d to use us to make a difference in their lives. If you would like a copy of our schedule in order to pray for us daily while we are there, we will gladly send it to you. Also, for those of you with internet access, two weeks before we leave we will post our schedule on our website: www.roadtozion.org.

Wonderful things have been accomplished through your contributions.

Money has been forwarded to Israel to buy food baskets for 8 families for Passover. We have already painted and repaired the homes of these families and personally know of their financial needs. Passover is one of the most important holidays in the Jewish faith and just buying the special food for the celebration can be quite expensive. For the poor, who have lost their jobs due to injuries from terrorist attacks it can be impossible. Thank you that these eight families will be able to celebrate this holiday knowing that Christians in America care enough to provide a way.

Your donations also made it possible for a single Mom to attend a weekend conference that was specifically designed for single parents. The conference helped her face the challenges of being a single parent and begin the path to healing after a painful divorce. While she was getting much needed help her children were being well cared for with organized recreational activities, times of sharing and Bible studies. The leaders of the conference wrote last week to say the time together with the single Mothers surpassed all they had hoped for. It was truly a time of healing for these women.

We feel all of these things are important in the Kingdom of G-d and ask the Heavenly Father to bless you for your part in it.

More To Be Done!

At times the task seems too big. There’s so much to be done that you may be asking, “What more can I do?” We challenge you to go before the Father and ask Him for an answer to this question. He always gives us direction. Maybe He will lead you to say, “I can do that!” to one or part of one of the needs listed below.

1. You can pray for each adult going to Israel to work Listed below are the adult volunteers going. Please choose a person or couple to pray for as they make preparations to go and for the time they are there.

Gene and Corinne Burton

2. You can support a young person going to Israel
Listed below are the names of 9 high school students that are presently raising the funds they need to make this trip. You can be a part of this life-chang- ing, spiritual adventure for one of these young people. We ask you to pray for these teenagers by name and if you are able to help them financially please send your donation to Road To Zion and designate whom you would like to support.

We also ask you to begin praying for the families and homes where we will be working. One example: Roni, 32 years old, was injured while trying to stop a suicide bomber in 2002. Many lives were saved because of his actions but his life was forever changed. Because he absorbed a great amount of the explosion both his legs were horribly damaged and had to be amputated. His wife, Shira, and their four children struggle to make ends meet. We will be working in their home - the first Christians they will have ever had contact with. Pray for them and pray for our day together with them.

Finally, we have been asked to bring household supplies, sheets, towels and summer clothes for the families. We will also be buying supplies for painting and repair work. If you would like to contribute to these needs please designate that on your contribution.

Above all, we ask that you pray that the day will come when there will no longer be a need to go and help victims of terror in Israel. If you have questions about our ministry or would like to participate in the next trip to Israel in October 2005 please contact us by phone or by email.

You may have noticed the “o” missing from the name of G-d in this newsletter. To honor His holy name, religious Jewish people refrain from adding the “o” when writing the name of G-d. We have chosen to respect their traditions by doing the same.
